Molecular Resource Center of Excellence

The Molecular Resource Center (MRC) is one of the University of Tennessee's Centers of Excellence. It was founded in 1985 to promote and develop the use of molecular biology in basic and clinical research programs at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Today, the MRC houses a full range of molecular, biochemical and immunological facilities through its core laboratories. The mission of the Molecular Resource Center at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is to provide the university community with access to the latest technologies for exploring the molecular bases of disease and basic biology. In order to provide these methodologies, the MRC has invested in both equipment and trained personnel. The equipment includes the latest technology in genetic analysis and microscopic imaging. The personnel to operate, or instruct others in the operation, of this equipment are also available to investigators.
